Living index of themes for this project. Each H2 is a topic; bullets are wikilinks to related notes. Updated by obsidian-documenter when documenting work. Read by historian at bootstrap. Topics kept alphabetical.

CAD Tooling

  • fusion360-mcp-scripting — the shared Fusion MCP gotcha reference; gotchas 12–26 originated in this project (12–20 from v1, 21–26 from the v2 split and its mockup)
  • krakenpi-carbox — the build-script-as-model workflow: edit CONFIG, re-run, it wipes/rebuilds/self-checks/re-exports; printed parts use sketch+extrude, the mockup uses TemporaryBRepManager

Cable Routing & Wiring

  • carbox-enclosure-geometry-specCABLE_Y = 131, the back cable corridor; the three fixes that opened it (lid posts sunk 2 mm into the wall, SOCKET_Y 115→108 / RIB_Y0 92→88, and the RIB_NOTCH at Y 125..136); zip anchors straddling the corridor
  • krakenpi-carbox — the wiring topology: 12 V + straight to the adaptor, 12 V through the switch, status LED tapped BEFORE the adaptor so it follows the switch; adaptor → Pi power, adaptor → Kraken power, Pi ↔ Kraken data

Design Mockups as Verification

  • krakenpi-carbox — the preview assembly (Kraken, Pi 5 case, Ø28 × 40.5 adaptor, 8 colour-coded wires from bezier-rounded polylines, 14 sketch-text labels); built after the export loop so preview solids never reach an STL
  • fusion360-mcp-scripting — gotcha 26: modelling the contents and their cabling is a verification technique, and the corridor collision it caught
  • carbox-enclosure-geometry-spec — the corridor geometry the mockup forced

Enclosure Geometry

  • carbox-enclosure-geometry-spec — full spec: 312 × 145 × 49.4 assembled, the three-part split and its 10× M3 joint, layout along X, fixings, power bay, cutouts, venting, lid and register lip, car-mount ears
  • krakenpi-carbox — the design at a glance, and the v1 → v2 change list

Fastener & Fit Constraints

  • carbox-enclosure-geometry-spec — Kraken needs M3x16 (its own case screws + a 3 mm floor); Pi holes slotted ±2 mm because the board’s position inside the official case is unpublished; the 0.3 mm switch web; the bare-wire-only 12 V entry
  • krakensdr-pi5-reference-dimensions — the −1.7 mm SMA bank offset and the 8x M3 pattern that drive those constraints
  • krakenpi-carbox — the 10× M3 floor↔frame joint (bosses in the frame, screws up through the floor, Ø6.5 × 1.8 counterbores for button heads); joint stiffness across a 312 mm span is untested

Geometry Verification

  • carbox-enclosure-geometry-spec102 pointContainment assertions + a 1 260-point corridor line scan, including negative asserts on webs, post bodies and rib material; why renders are not evidence
  • fusion360-mcp-scripting — the generalised rules: gotcha 20 (assert, don’t screenshot) and gotcha 26 (a spot check is not a scan — sweep anything a cable, hand, tool or airflow must pass through)
  • krakenpi-carbox — the v1 corridor collision that passed every spot check and was only found by building the mockup

Material & Printing

  • carbox-enclosure-geometry-spec — ⛔ no PLA (70–80 °C in a parked car); ASA/PETG/PC; three flat, support-free parts on an H2S; exports verified sitting flat on Z = 0
  • krakenpi-carboxwhy it was split: a 0.4 mm hotend made v1 a ~15 h single print; the split also parallelises assembly (floor first in ~2.5 h)
  • bambu-h2s-material-reference — the drying constraint: AMS 2 Pro’s 65 °C ceiling cannot dry ASA or PC
  • krakenpi-carbox384 → 291.6 cm³, a 23 % cut: WALL 3→2.5, LID_T 3→2.4, 6 mm lid grilles at 10 mm pitch, floor lightening grid
  • carbox-enclosure-geometry-specwhy FLOOR stayed at 3.0 (structural member; the M3 button heads recess into it) and how shelling the frame separately decoupled WALL from FLOOR

Reference Dimensions

  • krakensdr-pi5-reference-dimensions — KrakenSDR drawing KH-ASSEMBLYC1, official Pi 5 case product brief, Pi 5 board mechanical drawing, Ø28 × 40.5 mm 12 V–USB adaptor, Bambu H2S build volume
  • Status LED — a measurement trap — ⚠️ 24.4 mm was the LED’s overall length including leads, not a panel dimension; the panel feature is a Ø6.6 bore + Ø14 × 4 collar
