- hardcut-bench-inventory graduated into the vault-level inventory. It recorded 9 of order H26/7333913’s 26 line items because it was scoped to hardcut’s bench tasks, and its own body asked for exactly this. It is kept, not deleted — it still owns the bench-substitute vs production-BOM distinction — but now carries a banner saying it is hardcut-scoped and superseded for global purposes, and its “there is no vault-wide inventory” open question is closed. What the new note adds that hardcut never had: the 12 V 9 Ah AGM battery this bench needs (
100.459.79, 7 756 Ft — a coil primary at 0.9–1.1 Ω draws 6–12 A dwell and the “many 12 W PSUs” on hand collapse instantly), and the fact that there is no bench PSU and no oscilloscope in the house — the SPS-C3206 lab PSU (37 900 Ft) and DSO2D10 scope (111 000 Ft) were in the cart and removed before the order was placed. ⭐ Correction landed the same day, and it is the point of the whole note: 3 soldering irons ARE owned — models unknown, appearing in no order, no note and no transcript. Four separate agent runs had concluded there was none. The note now carries an Owned but Undocumented section and the rule “the absence of a record is not a record of absence” — inventory

Recorded the logic analyzer as owned hardware and settled the macOS capture toolchain. The vault referred to “logic analyzer” only generically — it was never written down as an owned item, and no project folder had a BOM/inventory note at all. It is a
Logic-24M-8CH(HESTORE cikkszám100.355.03, 3 975 Ft, qty 1) — a generic Cypress CY7C68013A (FX2LP) 8-channel / 24 MHz Saleae clone, sigrok driverfx2lafw— plus TESTHOOK1-RD ×2 / TESTHOOK1-YE ×2 clip-on hooks. Ordered 2026-08-08 (order H26/7333913), arrived 2026-08-11; cart export at/Users/levander/Downloads/hestore_20260808.xml. Toolchain decision, verified 2026-08-29:sigrok-cli+ Surfer, NOT PulseView.sigrok-cli0.7.2 /libsigrok0.5.2 /libsigrokdecode0.5.3 all ship native arm64 Homebrew bottles througharm64_tahoe, andsurfer0.7.0 is bottled in homebrew-core (Rust waveform viewer, reads VCD/FST/GHW) — but PulseView is not in Homebrew at all and sigrok.org’s macOS nightly DMGs both 404; the wiki’s Mac page was last edited July 2023 and still says “64bit x86 only” (upstream has commits from Nov 2025 but no release since 2020, no macOS binary). Ruled out with reasons so it isn’t re-litigated: DSView (DSLogic-targeted, v1.3.0 from 2023-07-18, x86-only DMG), ngscopeclient/scopehal (v0.2.2 of 2026-08-20 does ship a nativeDarwin-arm.dmgwith Apple Silicon GPU support, but has no fx2lafw driver — scopehal#270 and #16 open, nobody working on either; the one to watch). Two gotchas captured as callouts: (1) the FX2 firmware blob is NOT in Homebrew — the chip has no onboard flash and needsfx2lafw-saleae-logic.fwre-uploaded on every plug-in, so unpacksigrok-firmware-fx2lafw-bin-0.1.7.tar.gzinto~/.local/share/sigrok-firmware/(libsigrok’s search order, read fromsrc/resource.c:$SIGROK_FIRMWARE_DIR→$SIGROK_FIRMWARE_PATH→g_get_user_data_dir()/sigrok-firmware→ system data dirs); (2) never capture at 24 MHz — the device has zero capture memory and streams over USB 2.0 at 1 byte per sample regardless of channel count, so 24 MHz = 24 MB/s sits at the bulk ceiling and drops samples silently. Use 1 MHz — 1 µs resolution at 1 MB/s, ~1000× finer than ignition timing needs (4-cyl at 6000 r/min ≈ 200 sparks/sec, IGt dwell in ms) and makes minutes-long captures trivial — 2026-08-29-logic-analyzer-toolchain -
Correction, same day: Saleae Logic 2 is NOT ruled out. An earlier draft of the note above called it a “dead end — modern Saleae software rejects non-Saleae hardware”. That half does not hold and has been retracted. The clone’s EEPROM reports VID
0x0925/ PID0x3881— the exact USB ID of the original 2008-era Saleae Logic, which is precisely what “Saleae kompatibilis” on the HESTORE listing means: it impersonates that specific device. Confirmed in libsigroksrc/hardware/fx2lafw/api.c—{ 0x0925, 0x3881, "Saleae", "Logic", NULL, "fx2lafw-saleae-logic.fw", ... }— whose comment files six known clones under the same ID (EE Electronics ESLA100, Robomotic MiniLogic, Robomotic BugLogic 3, MCU123, Hantek 6022BL in LA mode, Instrustar ISDS205X in LA mode). Because the FX2 has no flash, firmware loads into RAM at plug-in and whichever host software connects first uploads its own — which is exactly why one board can be driven by either Saleae’s software or sigrok, with nothing to undo. Saleae’s own docs still state the original Logic “is supported on all releases”, and the clone-resistance that genuinely exists applies to Saleae’s newer hardware revisions (Oct 2022+), not to this ID. Two caveats recorded neutrally, neither a technical block: it is a bare FX2 wearing the ID rather than the original board, so whether Logic 2’s upload/streaming handshake completes is unverified (community reports mixed); and the EULA restricts the software to Saleae-manufactured hardware — the call is the user’s. Status: UNTESTED — the device has never been plugged into Logic 2; logged as a 60-second bench question, not a decided fact in either direction. Also recorded: Logic 1.x is not the fallback — deprecated at 1.2.40, macOS buildLogic-1.2.40-MacOS.dmgis OS X 10.8+ / Intel-only (would need Rosetta), and that version removed the Decoded Protocols Panel. Thesigrok-cli+ Surfer recommendation is unchanged and stands on its own merits: proving the gate never moves while IGt is high across ~10,000 events is an assertion over a VCD, not a GUI task — reframed in the note from “the only option” to “the right tool for this job, and the fallback that definitely works if Logic 2 doesn’t take” — Open Question: Saleae Logic 2 — untested, try it first -
Seeded hardcut-bench-inventory — the vault’s first parts/BOM note. Answers the gap levander raised on 2026-08-13 (“we need a better way to track our electronic projects in obsidian, like manage inventory, reorders etc.”), deliberately minimal: the analyzer + hooks, plus the Task 8 bench parts confirmed present in the same order (74HC14-CF ×2
100.429.88, 74HC74 ×2100.215.54, IRLZ44NPBF ×5100.314.93, BB-102 breadboard, RPACK-600 resistor kit, SS-5GL microswitches ×2) — with the standing warning that these are bench substitutes, not the production BOM (74LVC1G17Q / BSS806N / LM74700-Q1 → SMBJ33A → LM5164-Q1 → AP2112K-3.3 were never bought). Flagged the real problem: parts are scattered across Boards on Hand, lightaim and here, nothing tracks a part across projects, so this note should graduate to a vault-level inventory rather than be copied per project. hardcut’s status table upgraded from the vague “Parts: reported in hand” to the receipts — hardcut-bench-inventory

- Scaffolded the project’s missing entry point, hardcut — the folder had design and plan notes but no overview, so
[[hardcut]]was a dead link from kickfix’s Agent Landing row, and hardcut had no project-table row at all. Both fixed. Status recorded accurately: parked with ZERO code written —/Users/levander/vitara/hardcut/contains only.agents/, nogit init, noplatformio.ini, so plan Task 1 is unstarted. Surfaced the three physical measurement gates at the top of the note, since they gate everything: (1) count the ECM coupler cavities (expect 22-pin A + 26-pin B) and check the VIN’s 8th digit — every pin number is Vitara-manual-sourced and a different count invalidates the whole basis; (2) the 220 Ω source-impedance test on IGt,R_out = (V1−V2)/(V2/220)— ifR_out< 60 Ω the parallel-shunt approach is abandoned for a series interrupt; (3) a stall test to replace the placeholder 2,500 rpm launch limit (the often-quoted 2,300–2,600 belongs to the 4-speed, not the 3L30). Also captured that the plan supersedes the design’s software mid-dwell check with a 74HC74 D flip-flop clocked on IGt’s falling edge, making the one engine-destroying bug physically unreachable rather than merely tested-for, and noted that Tasks 1–5 + 11 are pure software with 28 native unit tests and need no car — hardcut - Cross-linked lightaim, a new sibling ESP32-S3 project on the same 1995 Geo Tracker (joystick-aimed light, bench-working). Relevant here for the ESP32-S3 bring-up gotchas hardcut will hit too:
uvx --from platformioneeds--with pipor PlatformIO dies withMissingPackageManifestError; the S3 flashes its bootloader at0x0, not the classic ESP32’s0x1000; only the CH343 UART port (1a86:55d3) can flash a running S3 (native USB/OTG303a:4001→No serial data received); and LEDC duty resolution caps at 14 bits on the S3 (20 on the original) — exceeding it kills PWM entirely while the firmware still looks healthy — 2026-08-12-lightaim-bench-bringup

- Flagged this project’s signal table as a wire-data source for cluzter, the wiring-diagram editor for the same 1995 Geo Tracker (G16B). The real JIS/Suzuki-coded wires here —
Bl/G(IGf → ECM B5),Br/W(igniter IG → coil primary −),B/W(igniter +B), Orange (IGt), Green/White (brake switch), Yellow (VSS → ECM A7) — are ground truth for it. Added the cross-link plus a pointer to theB-is-black /Bl-is-blue trap (cluzter-wiring-gotchas) — 2026-07-29-hardcut-design - Initialized activity log (retroactive — the 2026-07-29 design note predates it).

- Designed hardcut: an ESP32-S3 ignition-cut two-step launch limiter + configurable rev limiter for a 1995 Geo Tracker 1.6 16v MPFI (G16B), 3L30 automatic. Intercepts the two low-current ECM↔igniter logic wires; shunts IGt to ground with an open-drain pull, keeping every run of skipped events below the ECM’s consecutive-miss threshold so fuel keeps flowing (which is what makes the bangs). Nothing in the harness is cut; an unpowered or hung box is electrically identical to a stock car — 2026-07-29-hardcut-design
